Leila

Original abstract painting, Dubai, UAE

Leila is a study in movement, contrast and a little bit of chaos.

Deep midnight blues wind their way through softer shades of slate, smoky blue and muted cream. Some brushstrokes are bold and deliberate, while others seem to disappear into the layers beneath them.

There's a looseness to this piece that I really love. Nothing feels too controlled or perfectly placed, yet somehow it all comes together.

From a distance, Leila feels almost like a stormy sky or moving water. Up close, it's all about the individual marks, the texture and the unexpected little details.

I wanted this piece to have a sense of freedom about it. Something expressive and a little moody, without feeling heavy.

Leila is understated, but there's plenty going on beneath the surface.
