Florence

Original painting, 100 × 100 cm, Dubai, UAE

Florence is a little wild, a little romantic, and full of colour.

Hundreds of tiny flowers sit amongst layers of deep olive green, with flashes of crimson, pink, lilac and white. No two flowers are quite the same, and that's part of what I love about this piece.

There’s something different to discover depending on where you’re standing. From across the room, the colours blend into one another, but get a little closer and you can see every individual flower and the texture of the paint.

I wanted Florence to feel like a garden that's been left to grow on its own. A little overgrown, wonderfully imperfect, and all the more beautiful for it.
