Odette

Original painting, 110 × 100 cm, Dubai, UAE

Odette is a little moody, a little romantic, and full of surprises.

Hundreds of tiny flowers in shades of crimson, pink, lilac and white sit against a rich, dark green background. Some are barely there, while others seem to jump right off the canvas.

From across the room, the flowers blend together into a sea of colour, but get a little closer and you'll find layers of texture, individual brushstrokes and tiny details that are easy to miss at first.

I wanted Odette to feel like a garden after dark. A little mysterious, slightly overgrown, and beautiful in a way that doesn't try too hard.
